PROFESSOR TARIQ SETHI

Professor Tariq Sethi is Head of Respiratory Medicine Kings Health Partners/Kings College London and was previously Professor of Respiratory and Lung Cancer Biology at the University of Edinburgh. He was educated at Cambridge and London Universities followed by junior hospital jobs in London. He did a Ph.D at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund London and was subsequently appointed lecturer in Medicine at Edinburgh University. As an MRC Travelling Fellow, he worked at the Scripps Research Institute California, returning to Edinburgh as a Wellcome Trust Senior Research Leave Fellow.

Prof Carsten Flohr

Carsten Flohr studied at Cambridge and Oxford Universities and then trained in both paediatrics and dermatology. He was the first UK National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinician Scientist in Dermatology (2009-2014) and currently holds a senior Career Development Fellowship from the NIHR.

Dr Susan Chan

Dr Susan Chan is a Biomedical Research Centre Clinical Research Consultant in Paediatric Allergy and a member of the MRC-Asthma UK Centre in Allergic Mechanisms of Asthma. Having trained in Medicine at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals, she completed her specialist training in Paediatrics in London. Her research interests focus on the mechanism of peanut allergies in children, and childhood eczema.

Roisin Fitzsimons

Roisin Fitzsimons is Allergy Consultant Nurse and Allergy Service Lead for Quality, Patient Experience and Transformation at Guys and St Thomas Hospital.  Roisin has worked in the Children’s Allergy Service, since it began in 2006, she has been instrumental in developing the nurse-led service, which includes the food and drug challenge service.  Roisin’s particular areas of interest include drug allergy and sublingual immunotherapy.  Roisin has successfully completed the MSc in Allergy at Southampton University and is privileged to now lecture on the course.  Roisin is a

Dr Erika Harnik

Erika Harnik is the Allergy Academy’s Education fellow. She has joined the Allergy Academy having completed her paediatric registrar core training at the Whittington Hospital. She is developing the educational content of the Allergy Academy website alongside a clinical role in Paediatric Allergy and working as a research doctor on three multi centre Paediatric Allergy randomised controlled trials. She is currently undertaking the MSc in Allergy at the University of Southampton.

Professor Gideon Lack

Prof Gideon Lack is Professor of Paediatric Allergy at KCL and head of the Children’s Allergy Service at the Evelina Children’s Hospital. He is an international expert in food allergy as in principal investigator of the LEAP study – an interventional study looking at strategies to prevent the development of peanut allergy.

Dr Adam Fox

Adam read Medicine and Neuroscience at Cambridge University before completing his clinical training at University College, London. Having completed specialist training in Paediatric Allergy in 2006, he spent 9 years as clinical lead of Allergy at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals, London - Europe’s largest specialist Allergy service. He Is now Clinical Director for Specialist Ambulatory Medicine and a Reader in Paediatric Allergy at King’s College London.
