Allergy Academy Programme for Nurses
The Allergy Academy programme for nurses will run over two days this year. Day one will examine the epidemiology of allergic disease and how this is managed in primary care, including the integration of secondary and primary care services. Day two focuses on care of the patient with moderate atopic disease, in particular interventions for the treatment of asthma and allergic rhinitis in secondary and tertiary care. The programme will explore the theory of atopic disease, which will be consolidated by practical sessions, such as; administration of immunotherapy and allergy testing techniques.
The NICE guidelines and RCPCH pathways have guided the development of these study days and we are honoured to have leaders in allergy nursing speaking at this event. In addition we are fortunate to have a patient speaker and clinical psychologist. It is hoped the days will provide us with an holistic overview of how we can support our patients on their journey through primary, secondary and tertiary care, empowering them to take control of their condition and enhance their quality of life.
You may choose to attend either day, if you would like to attend both there is a reduced attendance fee.
