Hot topic for GPs: COVID-19 Vaccination and Allergies
The Allergy Academy is proud to present a ‘One Hour Q&A Hot Topic’ online session, to support the widening Covid Vaccination Roll-Out. This evening event will involve an online screen-share presentation over Teams, which is streamed live and recorded for later viewing.
Our talk is suitable for all healthcare professionals directly involved in COVID-19 vaccination and those interested in learning about the latest advice on safely vaccinating patients who report allergies. We are offering FREE access to joining delegates on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Aim:
We are now rolling out Covid vaccination across the majority of the adult British Public. In the initial stages, the MHRA issued pre-cautionary advice for atopic individuals receiving the vaccination, however the position has now changed.
We have a responsibility to ensure streamlined access to vaccine for all of those presenting, whilst ensuring that the very few requiring specialist evaluation are spotted and benefit from increased support.
Without having a clear plan for the many who report allergies and previous suspected reactions, there may be frustration and worsened acceptance among those groups who can be harder to reach.
We are excited to present an hour of interactive discussion from Dr Chris Rutkowski, Clinical Lead for Adult Allergy at Guy’s Hospital. We will outline how to deal with queries from patients with a background of allergies, and how to spot those who require specialist support. The session will be highly interactive, and offers the chance to ask your own questions submitted via the Chat function.
